I became involved as a charter member of One Community United with an invitation from the founder, Ken Fuller. One Community United is an organization that interested me because of its focus on the issue of race, and the impact a diverse group of people could make in the community. I believed, and the mission statement of One Community says, that we should have open and honest conversations around the issue of race so that, together, we can take action to have one community. I have developed what I believe to be lifelong relationships, and friendships through my involvement in One Community United. It is my desire that what I believe will be contagious, and that is we can be united in purpose, even if we have different ways to reaching that purpose.
